Please watch this short video about why The People’s Supermarket in Oxford’s Cowley Road should be given a grant to enable us to cook food to sell from ingredients that would otherwise go to waste as it is close to its sell by date. Thank you!
A message from People and Planet:
“Working in partnership with the Fairtrade Foundation, we are recruiting volunteers who will be trained to become Fairtrade School Mentors, working to support school students in raising awareness and taking action on Fairtrade in schools in Oxford (and across the UK).
The next training is taking place in London on 29 & 30 August and the deadline for applications for this training is Monday 20 August. We still have a few training spaces to fill, so I’d be very grateful indeed for any help you could give in promoting this.
It’s a unique opportunity to introduce young people to global poverty issues and inspire them to make a difference. Volunteers will receive:
- Full training and support, with all expenses paid
- A sought-after volunteer placement in a local secondary school
- CV-boosting campaigning and teaching experience
